Adjusting to year 1

..when does it start to get easier for them?

My August ds has progressed really well since starting year 1 but he has complained consistently since September that he hates school because of all the work, especially the writing.

When do they get used to it and start to enjoy school again (if ever?!)?

Watching this space. DD breezed through R and was doing really well, but is struggling in year 1 on a number of levels (more social than academic). Also complaining that there's no play.
