Is there a math text book for primary school children?

I was educated abroad where there is math textbook for each child and the textbook is taken home everyday, therefore parents are clear what is being taught in school. Each child is taught exactly the same thing! -- I can see many problems with this approach....

However in UK, there is no text book and no home work for my Y1 DS. He seems to be happy in school and teacher is pleased with him. But I always wonder what's being taught.

Can anyone let me know what sort of teaching material the school use for math teaching?

If you go into any bookshop (or amazon) you'll find loads of maths books for kids - either aimed at a year, or at a key stage.

This is what is being taught.

There are loads of different schemes and books that cover the National Curriculum for maths, schools use different ones plus teachers will do their own activities to fit the curriculum.

If you want a quick easy to read overview of what should be covered each year, I would recommend the CGP books. www.cgpbooks.co.uk/pages/productDetail.asp?book=M1W10 This one is probably most useful for year 1.
