OFSTED now have a "give your views" area where parents can rate their children's schools and see other parents ratings.

Am I the only one who didn't know about this?

It only started in October, so I think you are one of the first to know about it. I only saw it earlier because I noticed it when looking at local Ofsted results. Not much to read as they want enough reports filled out that it's not just one or two parents' opinions.

EssentialFattyAcid · 20/11/2011 09:54

Why don't parents know it is there? Our school has only 2 reviews and one if them is mine that I just did today!

Why would OFSTED have this survey but not tell anyone about it? Why hasn't it been publicised on parentmail or the like?

No, I don't think very many people know about it. I was the only reviewer for our school! It would make sense to advertise I a bit more really, wouldn't it, otherwise it's pointless, isn't it!

It was publicized on here in fact. And on the radio. And I read about it in the paper.

mrz · 20/11/2011 10:29

It featured very prominently on the news at the time it was introduced but I've found the few people who I've spoken to aren't interested in it

EssentialFattyAcid · 20/11/2011 13:22

I missed all the news stories then!

I don't understand why its not included on the regular newsletters for each school, surely that is the communciation that parents all actually read?

perhaps in your school parents actually read newsletters ...

TheFallenMadonna · 20/11/2011 13:26

Because this is about communication between OFSTED and parents, not schools and parents.
