Placement request in Scotland - who decides?

Hi a good friend is desperate to get her DD into a local school that she does not live in the catchement for. She has an autistic son and the preferred school for DD is closer to her DS special needs school.
Question - when you placement request in Glasgow who actually decides if it is yes or no? Headteacher or the council? Thanks

The placement request form goes to the council. If the school has a space and your friend has a good reason which it seems she does then it should all be fine.

Forgot to add the HT does have to sign the form too.

Not in Glasgow but in my authority (in Scotland) it's the Education Department that deals with placing requests.

It is the Education Department that deals with requests. As long as the school has space, your friend should have a good chance of getting a place.
