Oh dear, I think I have done the wrong thing . . .

dd broke her arm in school pe lesson on Friday am. Being bored & antsy after sitting around in casualty all day she came with me at chucking out time to pick up her school bag & clothes.

So, we went in and got round to the subject of their Xmas calendar photos which they're taking next week - & without thinking I asked (stupidly in front of dd) whether I could take her in for the photos. So then, the time was when dd has to be back at the fracture clinic, then they offered to move the photo-taking time etc etc. I was frantically trying to back out at this point as I can see it is going to be an organisational nightmare for them. But of course (esp since accident was in school) they felt morally obliged to be super helpful, and I now feel like pta-mum-from-hell Blush

Any great suggestions as to how I can get all concerned out of this hole???!

Well if they've already moved the photo taking time then leave it as it will be more hassle to move it back.

If they haven't moved it yet just tell them first thing on mon morning that thanks very much but don't other, etc.

It would be easier for you to change the time of fracture clinic appt to be honest I'd have thought.

I don't think we can change clinic time - hospital appts tend to be non negotiable IME.

Agree you're right, I should just call on Monday am & say why don't we just leave it. Maybe should say that dd not up to coming in & dressing up etc. otherwise I think we are going to go round in circles being polite . . .

Which hospital is it?

stevies · 13/11/2011 19:31

Well they did break your dds arm, its the least they can do!

Takver · 13/11/2011 19:37

jennie, would out me more than I already have! (very rural area) But we got squeezed in for appt as doctor in casualty wanted her back in asap to see them.

stevies - I think that's kind of how they feel - it really wasn't their fault though!

I don't think they would have offered to change the time if they didn't think they could. What's a few hours to them, if it means your dd gets to be in the photo with her friends. If it was you asking for them to change it then a bit different, but I think you should pat yourself on the back for finding a considerate school, even if she did manage to break her arm in pe!

Hmm, maybe I will call and see - perhaps the best thing is just to see what they say, I didn't have the appt time when I spoke to them before, so maybe it will be ok.

TBH I wouldn't have thought of it except her dressing up things were all hanging on the peg with her other stuff as they had to take them in last week.
