How do I support ds1 to improve his writing skills?

At parents evening last week, his teacher said that one of ds1's targets was to improve his writing skills and be able to use more descriptive and 'wow' words.

How can I help him with this?

Review his work with him and ask him how he could improve?

Pick out his adjectives, verbs and adverbs and figure out how to make them more exciting.
