Info on mid-Beds schools anyone...?

Hi, hope someone can help? My son really isn't doing very well at school, he's in a class with some troublesome characters and he is drawn to them like a magnet! Now Yr 2 and this has gone on since Reception. Academically he's not doing well either. We are looking to move to the mid-Beds area and need a lower school that has a good record for nurturing/pastoral care as he seems to need a lot of attention and tlc. At the moment I would even put this above academic attainment though not fair on my brighter elder son, though he will soon be off to middle school. Any recommendations gratefully received! Really could use a school with before and after school care as I work part-time but long days. Many thanks.

Hi, not sure of exactly where you are looking at but places with good schools at all levels (lower-middle-upper school here in Beds) are Ampthill, Flitwick, Leighton Buzzard, Toddington, Barton Le Clay, Wooton, and Cranfield. North of Bedford are Clapham and Oakley which have outstanding schools at all levels.

To be honest, have been looking at Ofsted reports for schools in all of those areas but was just hoping I might catch a reader who could give me some personal feedback as to the feel of some lower schools in this area. Academics are not his strong point and for him I feel that the emotional well being aspect of his education is the most pressing for the foreseeable future. Any help gratefully received.....
