Hello - we are considering this for our daughter starting in autumn 2012. My main worry is that our little girl is bright but very energetic (she mostly plays with boys). How would she fare at an all girls' school? We like the school but at all our visits the girls seem preternaturally well behaved and I am not sure if she would fit in. Any recent feedback on the school gratefully received!

They do tend to be well-behaved there, and at the Squirrel, particularly, there isn't much outdoor space for playtimes. That's about the only downside though, they are a great school. Personally I like mixed until 7 and then all girls, like OH used to be, but I think the only option for that locally now is Manor Prep (fantastic school for bright girls but in Abingdon rather than Oxford.)

Chandlings has got amazing grounds if your DD will benefit particularly from lots of space and you decide mixed until 11 is more suitable for her. A bit less academically focused than OH/Manor though.

Many thanks! I think we want to keep it as local as possible at least when she is that young. We have now talked to a few more parents and have been reassured that she would not be the only lively one there!

Why don't you consider the Dragon? It is one of the best prep schools in the country and is co-ed and the curriculum is very varied and the kids dont just 'work silently' all day, very active and produces excellent results.
Although it is also all girls, you might like Headington.

Honestly? The fees are a little high for us. We are just about getting our heads around the whole paying for school malarkey... We had a look at Headington, but preferred OH.
