ginn reading scheme

I did post on education but no one answered.

DD in year one has been put on Ginn reading scheme level 6 but I've no idea how this relates to anything else or book band colours.

School say its irrelevant and the main thing is that she learns to read but I would like some kind of context just so I know how she's doing.

Does anyone know please? I've never previously heard of the scheme and can't find much out about it either

DS's school sometimes use Ginn to supplement ORT. As far as I could work out (not a teacher) they seem one level harder than ORT. So if DS brought home an ORT level 9 he might also have a Ginn 8.

thanks Munstermum that gives me some idea. Looking at the ORT chart that puts her on turquoise which is fine.

These reading schemes are so confusing to be honest. All I know is she seems to be learning something :)
