admission question, bear with me!

My DD is due to start reception in Sept 2012. She is 4 in August. If I accept a place at a school does she have to start in September or can I keep her off until January. Do the school need to know this when I accept a place.?thanks

You have the right to defer entry until January if you wish. You need to tell the school before September.

When you accept the place, it will be to the LA. You need to talk to the school after this and say that you will be deferring admission till January. I would always recommend putting these kind of messages in writing, just so there is no misunderstanding.
