That's it really, found a great charity called filmclub.org but getting in a bit of a tangle re licensing and who can actually watch the film. It seems that we could not charge entrance but could make money on drinks and snacks but that patents could not attend, given that we're an infant school only, could this work realistically?

Yes ours does. We sell tickets which include a snack & drink Smile I guess that's how they get round it! If you do it straight from school, parents don't have to attend, the kids are escorted straight from class to school hall. Don't know which company they use though-sorry

filmclub.org is for holding a regular filmclub and they will pay for a licence. The license is for the school though, so not for parents and yes, you can't charge an entry fee. If a regular club was run, they might not mind too much if you held the occasional fundraiser though.

We've done a film night, though with different company. Hire of film was expensive (around £109) can't remember name of company). Hire cost included licence to be able charge admission though. We included snacks and drinks as part of admission fee.

Suspect that the deal you have invistigated is more of an after-school club provision thing, hence not allowed to charge admission/admit others.

If you had no parents, would you have sufficient adults to look after children/supervise trips to loo etc?

Dd's school have a weekly film club. All attendees pay £2 which is below the going rate for other after school clubs at her school. They are given popcorn and a drink which is included in the admission fee. They are supervised by TA's.
