KS2 SAT's, speaking and listening; How is it assessed?

Got on to the prickly subject of SAT's with DD on the way home and she asked how they assessed the speaking and listening element of the year 6 SAT's. Does anyone know? Is it continual assessment by the teachers re; how and what they contribute in guided reading or group discussions? I admitted to her that I had no idea and that I would ask someone who does.

Thanks.

it is in the current SATs tests, although teachers will provide a teacher assessment level for speaking and listening based on continual assessment over a range of formal and informal activities during the year
