hello, can anyone tell me where to find the actual catchment areas for the schools in bucks? Particularly the downley school. I have heard that people in the 'catchment area' advertised by bucks still don't ge in especially in the good schools... Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks

You can do a postcode check for catchment area on the Bucks website. It's www.buckscc.gov.uk
Not had any experience I'm afraid as DD wi be the first of mine to go to school next year. We visited our local school yesterday and I got the impression that catchment was the first criteria but this didn't seem to consider sibling places so not sure how this works. Can you have a chat with the school?

Look online as suggested. The criteria for each school depends on the type of school.

DS(7) goes to an oversubscribed CofE school in bucks. A lot of catchment kids don't get in.

In practice it's church siblings, other siblings, church non siblings, then ranked on distance from school (about 0.3 miles in our case)

If you find the primary admissions guide it will show you how many people got into each school and under what criteria last year...

If you look at the county allocation profile here it shows that catchment siblings were offered and catchment children (ie. non-sibling) to 0.65 miles.
