First week in Reception and exhausted?

My DD has been in full-time nursery (8:30-5pm), 3-4 days a week until last week then started Reception on Monday. She's only going for half days this week yet is utterly exhausted.
Last night she went to bed an hour early - zonk - straight out. And tonight she fell asleep on the settee after tea (an hour and a half before bedtime).
Is this just normal for settling in? Anyone else's children this worn out after 3 hours in school?

Yep same here. DS is absolutely shattered.

I'm enjoying the peace Grin

Sounds normal to me.

Dd1 is an August baby and spent half her first year asleep by 6 ish.

Just started back for year 1 and it's a different story.

They're still babies and school is so much harder than nursery, even though the hours are shorter.

Yea, same here too. DD2 very used to nursery, been doing three days a week since a tot. Started school full days last Weds and has been zonked every night. Brilliant isn't it?Grin

Ah phew! Normal - and we are enjoying the quiet evenings! Although her brother(2) is wandering round a bit lost asking where she is.

Rumpled my DD is an August baby too - sniff at being the youngest in the class
