Anyone knows Whittings Hill Primary school in High Barnet?

This seems to be a very good school with outstanding ofsted report and also high on the league table. But a bit concerned about the neighbourhood as there are lots of council blocks. House prices seem more affordable than other good schools. Anyone who has experience of sending their children to this school and living in this area? Our son is already 3 year old and we need to apply a place before Jan 2012 so we need to move into the catchment area as soon as possible. Visited a few such as Garden suburb, Brookland and Courtland, but houses are so expensive within the catchment area. So kind of drawn to Whittings Hill.

No personal experience but I gather that Whitings prides itself on doing well with its diverse social intake which is refreshing for a school in this area. The catchment area is still very wide so you probably have greater choice in which areas in barnet you choose to buy.

Hi there, I'm looking at whitings hill too, and generally high Barnet/new Barnet area. Interested to hear your feedback, did you go for this school in the end? What has yourbexperience been like, of both the school and the area? Thanks!!
