Skinny boy School trousers

Well I have finally got some that fit!

I'm in Scotland so less than a week to go - was beginning to panic. My DS has the bottom and waist of a 4 yrs old but the legs of a 6 year old. I have tried school trousers from most places - all to big and baggy - way too much material.

Found 2 good options at M&S - both ordered online:
Size down (to age 5) but buy longer length in these longer length M&S
and these "modern fit" aka skinny bought in regular size modern fit

I think the latter are the best fit.

Thought might be of use to save others the trecking around that I have done!

I can also recommend Next Slim Fit for thinner boys...

I ordered DS school trousers from Next. He is very thin but they actually stay up without a belt.

Got some decent ones from BHS (adjustable waist) for ds. All my dc have snake hips. God I wish I did

My skinny boy always finds Tesco trousers fit him best and dont require pinching in and belts.

I've tried both the M&S ones but they were too big. I've ordered the next slim fit ones (not here yet) but I haven't tried tesco. I'm starting to think that there might be something wrong with him when he is too skinny for skinny trousers.

Although DS2 is moving up to Yr7 Secondary, I too have bought the skinny fit from M&S - much much better than the ordinary ones - on him anyway.

Next is not too bad but we have to buy them with adjustable waists and pull them in - ditto Tesco - but there is a lot of loose material around the bum.
I have found that the best thing was to go to the school shop and buy the ones for skinny kids. They seem to fit much better than anything else. They are a bit more expensive - but actually they seem to last pretty well too.

My DS is too skinny for the school shop skinny ones :0( Still have to pull in the elastic for the Nest skinny ones, but they seem the best for us.

Yes the M&S ones have 2 or 3 botton holes pulled in at each side too! I found Tesco to be the worst - massive round the bum and thighs - I swear you could have fitted 2 of him in them!

For normal trousers I am finding H&M to be the best fit esp the jeans which my skinny boy doesn't like too skinny!!

Next do a slim fit in their jean style school trousers which fit DS great as he's tiny. They last all year and wash very well so we've stayed with these since he started school.

ds (7) is average tending towards slim. (very tall for 7 - 133cm and 4st 5lbs)

tried on trousers in BHS last week and could barely get them fastened around his waist (unless it was just an badly sized pair I tried on)
