We have a family wedding in March next year and will have to take a week out of school to attend. Will this affect stats tests etc. We live in London. Thanks

There is no set date nationally - Y2 assessments are teacher assessement and are collated over the year. The tests are a small part of this. Some individual schools like to set aside a couple of weeks in May to do the test part of this, but the assessment wouldn't be affected at all if you went on holiday.

Whether the school would be bothered is a different matter - depends on their attendance policy.

Our HT wouldn't have authorised holiday for a Y2 child in March. AS PP has said there is no set week to do the tests though.

You can but ask and see whether it will be authorised.

Ask your HT. We had a child on a family holiday (to visit family, rare event, they can't usually afford to) in Y2 and she missed a couple of papers. But they let her take them late.

And, ours were in May.

I'd ask at school but IME it's most common to do any formal assessments in May.

You can do them any time between January and June. Any children who miss them can do them on their return. They only form a small part of the teacher's assessment (as Feenie explained).
