Steeple Claydon School, Buckinghamshire

Hi
we are moving to a new area and one of the possible places is Steeple Claydon near Winslow, Buckinghamshire. Obviously, we have read Ofsted report (which 2 years ago does not seem that great) etc etc But since we do not know anybody in the area - are here any mums that can tell me about the school from personal experience? Or maybe you know any websites where such discussions take place? Thanks in advance.

I went there . But 20 years ago so that's not much help. It did 11+ and fed into the local grammars back then, it was a nice school.
God, I'm old.

Thanks. But yes - does not help much :)
Schools can change so rapidly both ways - and depends on so many things. I am losing my sleep over this. :(

Isn't there a website - rate my school.com or similar? Though I imagine you'd get more negative than positive on that as a general rule - people tend to post when they've got complaints, not when they're satisfied.

Thanks. Yes, that's what I thought.
Found a website ratemyschool.org.uk which came to be complete scam - something to do with bad credit cards. Then there is a website ratemyteacher (poor teachers!) - but Steeple Claydon does not seem to be on their list. Oh, well....

I don't have personal experience, but friends' children either go to private schools or schools in Buckingham whilst living in Steeple Claydon. Many of these village schools are not much in demand for a variety of reasons. Also, bigger schools tend to attract the better teachers it seems.

Hello, just stumbled across this old thread. If your still around did you end up sending your lo to steeple claydon? We are relocating and are also looking at this school, the latest ofsted report seems to show the school has made lots of improvements & I like the thought of the small class sizes... Be nice to hear how you got on with the move too, we are moving to Calvert green, really excited but also worried about the lo's adjusting again. I have a 3 & 5 yr old, 2nd move in 18mths but this will be the last - it's cause of OH job!!!
