Can I use Hadyn Richards Junior English 1 for Year 1 DS

My DS2 will be 6 next month.

I was wondering if I can I use Hadyn Richards Junior English 1 for him. At what age is this book normally used? Please advise?

Junior 1 =year 3 at a guess.

Year 3 are 7-8 year olds.

Ok, we have done first few pages and DS2 has done ok with help, but I wonder if I should wait a year before doing this book then?

We used to use Haydn Book 4 in the 4th year juniors, so book 1 would correspond to the old 1st year juniors-now Y3.
