Does anyone have any experience with this? We are considering signing up for 3 months to see how it goes. DD is doing OK at Maths but could do with a bit more confidence. We are going in to year 3 next September. Any feedback very much appreciated. Thank you.

My dc found it mind numbingly boring, we then tried mathswhizz and she loves it.

any tips of good literacy sites? happy to pay - for yr 3 daughter...she could do with some confidence tips (we try but it's hard) and some practice?

RosemaryandThyme · 20/06/2011 19:19

We tried it, DS is 6, the repetition truly is dull.
Hevn't tried mathswhizz but there is a section for maths on educationcity which he liked and you can try it free for a month I think.

Education city is good for covering basics.

I prefer Whizz to Carol Voderman, mainly because CV is like filling in worksheets online. They are not stimulating, and if you get the answer wrong, it doesnt tell you why or how to correct it or help you work it out again. It has its place as an additional aid, but it is not the best for tutorial.

If you want to go down this route, Mathletics is also worth considering. Its not as good as Whizz, but its great for improving confidence

Thanks, Thanks will definitely look in to the alternatives as suggested here above

Hi

On recommendation on another thread a couple of days ago I've just signed DS yr2 up for www.mangamaths.com Looks good & you can have 12 weeks free trial which gets you to end of school hols!

Marjoriew · 21/06/2011 10:30

I've just signed up for Mathletics for grandson. He really enjoys it. It's about £37 for the whole year but if you've got a code it's cheaper.
