DS and reception induction afternoon- change of clothes?

My DS 3.9yrs is going for his first afternoon in school on Monday. This is probably a really dumb question, but should I send him with a bag with change of clothes in case of accidents? He's v reliably trained, but accident still a possibility if he doesn't know where toilets are etc.

Definitely do not want to all pfb about it, but do 't want staff to have to faff about finding change of pants for him. Also, tho, don't wAnt staff to be worried about losing his bag etc.

Any thoughts? He's only there for 1.5 hours so I may be way overthinking this one!

I wouldn't bother for that length of time (one less thing to worry about and for him to remember to bring home). You can make sure he goes to the toilet before he goes and I'm sure the school staff will be very sure to show everyone where the toilets are!!

If he does have an accident there will be spare clothes available. Reception staff are well used to dealing with this.

Its possibly LESS faf for staff to get a pair of pants and shorts out of the cupboard where the reception class spares are kept, than to find right child's bag and hope there is a spare set in there.

Just remember to wash and return if your DS comes home in school clothes.

DS1 is similar age and stage. I don't have many fears but I'm unsure he will ask strangers or have the confidence just to go, and he has a habit of just battling on. He's going in a pull-up, for the first time in about six months, which seemed another solution since I don't really want reception staff having to wipe him down on their first encounter with him.

Don't worry, reception teachers seem to be able to spot a small boy needing a wee at 500yrds. And they send them all for wees at various times. They don't want to have to deal with accidents.
