Letters and sounds phases...

Is the child supposed to just be able to read the words or write them as well?

having just started to investigate letters and sounds phases, it seems that they have to read them first and in later phases be able to spell them. certainly at one point they should be able to spell the first 100 words.. I aam sure someone who uses it regularly will be able to tell you exactly when .. = force_uj or you could wade through this...

We don't use L&S but the idea is that children can read and spell cvc words using the sounds they have been taught in each stage and that in phase 2 they can read the phase 2 tricky words in phase 3 they can read the phase 3 tricky words and spell the phase 2 tricky words in phase 4 they read the phase 4 TW and spell the phase 3 TW ....
