Last week I had no school place, now we have two!

We were not offered any of our choices and found it really hard to get an appt to view the school we were offered.

Today I went to see that school and decided it was actually fine and DD loved it.

Then we arrived at preschool only to be told there's been a mistake by admissions and there is a place for her.

So now we have to make a decision, but I had no idea how quickly these things could turn around and was really upset when we found out we didn't get our options, so it's heartening to know things can get better. :)

Good news - although the choice is difficult it's a great position to be in :)

Thanks for answering :)

I'm so pleased because she adores the school she is at. It's perfect for her.

What parents fail to realise is that there are many parents that DON'T accept places they have been given due to a variety of reasons. Once a place is turned down or not accepted, then the reallocation happens and many times they get offered places to schools they want to get into.

I agree MM5 and I hoped this would happen. As it happens the fact we didn't get in was due to the admissions authority making a mistake in calculating the kids who applied as one moved in January and told them but they didn't update their records - so it looks to them as if they were one over.
