Is anyone familiar with these? My Yr1 DD has been given some of these to read and the concepts seem a bit old for a Yr1. I just wondered the age and book band they were targetted at. Reading them has been a bit of a problem mainly due to comprehension - covers multiplication, bullying, worrying, which seem a bit old for a Yr1. I know it is done in a simple way and maybe I'm being silly. DD really hasn't enjoyed them so have been supplementing with Blue bananas and some of the Usbourne first readers. Fortunately I think there are only a few of them and I guess they are some old readers that haven't as yet been replaced. Her school does a variety of readers - New Way, ORT, Ginn, Heinemann - so I can't fault the variety.
I think we have some ORT Stage 8 next.
