Some may remember my thread at easter...I was feeling a bit low Smile. however, DD has now gone up a reading level today and I just wanted to shout out my happiness at her little bit of success.

She is totally average for her age and this is not as grand as some kids are doing in year 1...but i am really chuffed.

Well done to your DD :) Bet she feels ever so pleased with herself too.

I moved a little girl (also y1) up a reading level last week after he had been on same level for ages. Something must have clicked recently and her reading has moved on a notch. She was so pleased about it and so eager to tell her daddy at pick up time!

She was, quietly, but reading has also caused her worry (she hates getting it wrong in front of me) and so she was quite bashful about it too.

We read her new book gently today (just did part of it) and she actually found it really quite straight forward, so i am hoping she will remain really positive about the extra level of hardness.

waiting for that 'click' inside her brain!
