Moving schools in September

Would love some feed back on this issue! DD is 7 and goes to small prep school which takes kids to Year 6. Her current year 2 group has 10 girls and 23 boys. She tends to be friends with the boys as some of the girls bully her. She is quirky.
My issue is she is a mad sporty child. Excelling in all sports. She can't wait to be in year 3 to do more sport. Sadly is doesn't look like there will be enough girls to take part in any team activities. We are actively looking at other schools for her with her blessing. This is not the only reason for wanting to move her, there several other issues. How do you know you are making the right decision? What if we move her and she is unhappy. I could never forgive myself. We feel we are acting with her best interests but are we? She is a very happy child in all aspects and often feel that hampers her ability to know her true feelings. Please help!

I would not move a child for sport, I would take her to afterschool sports myself, would that be an option?

If she's happy and it's a good school, I'd stay.

Agree wouldn't move on that basis alone. 10 girls can make up a team (ie netball) or they can put out one for mixed ages, assuming the school is motivated to do so. tbh I'd be surprised if there is another good school wiith a Year 3 place at short notice now and you'd probably have to forfeit a term's fees in lieu of notice. If you stay, the risk with a smallish group is that the level won't be as high as if there is a larger pool to select from which is more competitive, so think you should look beyond school sport . Also bear in mind that while she may excel at the moment, among a larger group she may find she more average.
