No direct experience but I was really impressed by the statistics on the progress that children make after this intervention, when I was shown them on a maths conference. My school runs Every Child a Reader which has huge impact.

Every Child a Reader - what sort of impact, Rupert? How does it operate. Thanks.

allchildrenreading - Not sure if you've seen this, but it outlines ECaR:-

I co-ordinate it at my school and it is pretty successful, but like any of the projects that provide 1:1 tuition, it all depends on the quality of intervention teacher that you appoint.

I'm afraid I don't know actual point scores as it runs in KS1 and I work in KS2. However I do know that the children completing the programme are making really accelerated progress. So much so that we are running the programme by funding it ourselves for the next few years even though the ring fenced government funding has run out.
