Lighweight trousers for girls?

dd1 is in Y2 and desperate not to wear skirts or dresses this summer (she says its because of showing her knickers when upside down in playground, but the fact is loathes dresses and skirts generally Hmm). I am worried she will bake in trousers.

Any tips for tracking down some lightweight grey or black girls' school uniform trousers?

My girls wear black shorts from Matalan schoolwear dept, school are more than happy and I have had several parents asking me wear to buy them. They are practical as well as quite pretty looking with nice white blouses.

I believe Next and Asda do some as well.

Thanks! She really wants trousers, not shorts, but I'll have a look at them with her anyway.

I get DD's from M&S, something mad like £4 a pair, certainly no more than £6 anyway. Lightweight, dry quickly and look smart.

Not espcially lightweight, but M&S do black, pure cotton trousers which might be a bit less sticky in the summer than all the 'shiny' ones.

Thanks, will take another look at M&S.

Our girls aren't allowed trousers, so my dd wears cycling shorts under skirts.
