Gerrards Cross or Suffolk?

I thought I'd just posted this but can't find it.
DP may have to relocate, but we would have the option of Gerrards Cross area or Suffolk (Ipswich / Bury St Edmunds). Please can anyone offer any insight into schools in these areas. Also pros and cons of the two would also be appreciated. I'm leaning towards Suffolk - more affordable housing, nearer the coast and open spaces, but DP prefers Buckinghamshire to be nearer his friends and London.

GX is expensive - however, great schools, access to London and feels very safe. Nice place to bring up children

We moved to Suffolk 3 years ago and love it, but one word of warning - you've come to look round at a time (mid May) when Suffolk is at it's most beautiful; it can be very different in mid-winter if you're slightly out of the main towns. Those beautiful open landscapes turn bleak very quickly!

Hi all, expecting in June first baby boy and we would like to move out of Canary Wharf where we have been based for last 10 years due to work. We are looking for green, spacious, villagey place with good schools and easy commute to Canary wharf. I have been recommended Gerrards Cross but keen to check which part is nice to look specifically. Also keen to know any other area suggestion with easy commute to London. thanks for all in advance :)
