We are @ West India Quay and need help finding a school for my daughter who is turning 4 this month. We have just moved from Germany. Please anybody with any advice? Private or public? I just started her @ Crossharbour Montessori not even realising that she should go to school already. Thanks Mums!

If she is 4 this month then she could start school in September - primary places have just been allocated though so you may have some trouble finding a state school that still has places. You'd probably be best off calling the council tomorrow to find out which schools have places available.

Legally your daughter doesn't have to go to school until the term after her 5th birthday though.

have a look here for tower hamlets school admissions. there is a phone number for a parents advice centre, maybe they can help.
the montessori school has enormous waiting lists, but also talk to them if your dd can be admitted into reception class.
maybe also the DIL forum can help?

Hi..i am looking around for a place for my 20 month old son in a day nursery. We are fairly new to the place and I have had a look at crossharbour montisseri & Lanterns (near South Quay). I saw a quite a bit of negative comments on the Lanterns. Could some one pls give some inputs on Crossharbour montisseri day nursery?Currently my son is with his grandparents when i go to work but i need to finalise on a day care in the next couple of days..
