just wondering... my son struggles very much with mark making in reception and probably is only fulfilling the first three points on the EYFS profile for writing... if this is still the case going in to year one will he need special help or an IEP or similar ?

I don't know about the IEP etc, I'm not a teacher. But if he's struggling with Mark making, I'm wondering what his fine/gross motor skills are like?

I'd ask if you could have an appointment with his teacher and see what he/she has to say! But usually, yes if a child is significantly behind, even in year 1, they should get some extra support of some sort!
