Hamilton School - Aberdeen

Would be very grateful for any feedback regarding Hamilton School in Aberdeen. I've heard varying reports. I love the Montessori ethos and the smaller size of the school and I think it would suit our son who is 7. However, because the school does not go on through secondary I worry about transitioning to another school. Some of the criticisms I have heard are that Hamilton kids are not as well prepared academically for secondary. Please help!

I know a few kids who joined my daughter's school after leaving from the top year at Hamilton and they were certainly not disadvantaged academically- both very able kids. Because they joined part way through the two year common entrance course they were behind in science but only because of the nature of the course and they very quickly caught up and overtook most of the rest of the class! All the things I have heard about it have been excellent.

Do you mind me asking what school the Hamilton pupils joined (ie. your daughter's school)?
