oh... just me then! Blush

well I have been going insane as one of the last areas to find out school places for reception - we find out tomorrow. I went on the admissions website 'just in case' and it says that offers have been given! So I go straight to the button to read and reply - DD has been offered first choice - so far so bloodybrilliant .... I read the default answers as 'accept' for first choice and 'n/a' for the second - so just hit submit.... then got an email confirming that I had 'appealed' the first choice school...... stupid stupid nora!

I have emailed them straight away saying I hit the wrong button and can they change it to accepted - will it be that simple or will I have to jump through hoops?!

It should be fine. Even if you do appeal, your appeal will probably be unsuccessful, and DD will still have to go to the first choice. Grin

Phone them first thing in the morning to say you accept.

It will be that simple, don't fret - congratulations.

You would appeal to the school you didn't get in to, not the one you did, so don't understand why you were given the option to appeal against offered school.

well exactly somerset! Thoroughly confusing!

On the good side - WOO! Grin Admittedly we live about 500m from the door so should have been a shoe-in but with dd being PFB I had no idea what I was doing!

Also, should have added: hitting a button on an website will not qualify as an official appeal. They will send out forms with a deadline for you to complete them. If you don't return them by the deadline, you will not have made an appeal.

Well done. I have a friend who lives 900m from her school, also pfb, and has not got in.

Hang on, d'you mean we have to actually accept the school place we are given? Or is it automatically theirs as they sent the letter...

cheepcheepchoconora · 28/04/2011 14:02

I had to accept mine! Had to go onto the online admissions site and hit accept to the one we want (the one we were offered) and n/a for the other
however - for hants thats down at the mo because of the glitch... think we have until 12th may to accept
