Worried about faith schools

lots of talk on Radio 4 about these today, but what about when they do too much faith?! I don't believe, myself, and with respect to those who do I worry about how much my kids get delivered all this spiritual stuff as if it were as true as what they really need to learn at school.

There is a fasinating piece in The Times today about just that and a little girl who asked the Archbishop how God was invented.

Unfortunately there is no escaping a certain amount of crap. I don't know where you are in the country but if you havea choice of schools, pick a community school for less superstition. If there is one that has mostly Muslim/Hindu/Sikh/Jewish pupils, then there will be very little other than the blandest, most neutral stuff in the assemblies, and the DC may well get a reasonably rounded overview of what the different mythologies are. Because it's only Christian mythology that gets pushed at kids by law, and the more multicultural the school, the less Christian crap you have to put up with.

If your children go to a faith school then they will be told some religious stuff as if it was true.
