Application made - need to change mind!

hello! Can anyone help?! I have made my application for primary schools and have since found out that the first choice (which is my catchment so likely to be offered place) has withdrawn their breakfast/after school club service! I really need this and was annoyed that nothing was mentioned when I visited the school. I would like to change the application to have one of the other options 'moved up the list'. does anyone know how to do this? I can't find any information on my LA website...Thanks!

I would call your LA and explain your circumstances, I think you will only be allowed to swap if your other choice has spare places, i may be wrong

If your LA hasn't issued offers yet I would sit tight. You can ring them to check but changing at this stage will almost certainly result in you being treated as a late application, which will mean you are unlikely to get a place at any of your preferred schools. Once your offer has arrived you can ask about a place at your other option and, if nothing is available, go on the waiting list.

Agree with PRH, even suggesting a change at this time is a risk that is not worth taking. Get the offer that comes from the LA and then work on getting on the waiting list for the school you now need.
You do however need to understand that any decision to appeal on the basis of the school needs to have after school club service is not likely to succeed.
I would actually go back to the school that was your first preference because they have to by law signpost you to suitable afterschool clubs, not run it themselves but be able to direct you to a suitable provider. So ask them who they would direct you to who is going to provide that provision.
