He's in Yr 3. His sats last year for maths were L1. He really really struggles. But thanks to a brilliant teacher, one-to-one classes and targeted support at home, he has just reached the level expected in yr2!

It's not much in the grand scheme of things but I am so pleased. He may never set the world of advanced mathetmatics on fire but he might just about do OK Grin

That's really, really good! A massive jump. Well done Ormirian's ds Smile

bigTillyMint · 28/03/2011 14:40

Great! Smile

How nice to hear about a DS who has made good progress with support form the school and home, rather than just being "gifted" and the school not challenging them enough.

Ormirian · 28/03/2011 15:30

Thankyou Smile

tilly - I think DS tends to 'challenge' the school rather than the other way around....

Well done little Ormy. I'm very jealous Envy

When DD reaches the expected level for Y2 I'll be wanting more than a 'small hurrah' :)

That's amazing progress. Well done everyone!

Thats great news.. It just proves that with the right support that most children can improve. A lot of children get lost in a big class but thrive with one-one attention.
This is wonderful, and I also imagine the teachers who have been supporting him are proud as well.

Ormirian · 28/03/2011 20:43

Yes roadart, they are chuffed to bits!
