Words trailing upwards

DD is in reception (4.9). She is left handed (Don't know if that is relevant?) and has fairly decent handwriting in my very biased opinion. The only thing is that she will start a word and then it will trail upwards off the line, then start back on the line for the next word. Is there anything I can do to gently encourage her to stick to the line, or is this developmental or left handedness?

Try angling the paper to match how she writes. The problem is that she can't see what she has already written as it's hidden behind her hand IYSWIM, also how you have to hold pen/cil to try not to smudge everything.

It certainly seems to be a left handed thing.

Also, when she writes on plain paper, try to give her a sheet to go behind it with lines on that she can see through. Otherwise it will be almost impossible for her to write in a straight line.

Is she tilting her book slightly down to the right when writing? as this might help
