Can anyone tell me what they know about St Catherine's School, Twickenham. Am thinking of moving my year 3 daughter there. She is at another prep school at the moment but not terribly happy so we're looking for a fresh start. Am particularly interested in the pastoral/friendship side of things and what the parents are like. Thanks

Hello Mykassy. I'm a Dad with a daughter at St Catherine's, she's now in year 7 having started in nursery. She couldn't be happier, and eagerly looks forward to going to school. The emphasis at St Catherine's is on the development of the child as a whole, not simply academic achievement. The pastoral and friendship aspects of school life are integral to the philosophy of the school, and are reflected in the girls. The caring and nurturing environment allow the girls to develop in a safe environment, and consequently achieve academically.
Many of the parents, including the CEO's and celebrities have become firm friends.
I hope this helps.

My daughter joined St Catherines in year 3. Other girls from her previous school went on to both LEH and Surbiton. It took them a lot longer (a whole term) to adjust in their new schools, even more so at LEH. Though my daughter missed her friends she adjusted after the first week. This is thanks to the nurturing environment of the school. Year 3 teacher is excellent and chatting to other mothers from other classes they too are happy with the quality of education. My daughter is in year 4 now and I am happy to say she loves going to school, has lovely friends and thoroughly enjoys learning. I like the fact the school encourages creativity with regular workshops with reknowned authors, poets, illustrators and artists, my daughter has found this very inspiring. The sports facilities are excellent and the annual Sports Day is held at the brilliant St Mary's University athletics track a few hundred yards away.
