Year 4 tests this week?

Ds1 is doing tests all week this week (he's in year 4). Does anyone know what these tests could be for? It's only just past the middle of the year so surely its a bit early for any end of year testing? (The school hasn't said anything)

It will be tests to measure his progress so far this year. Hopefully the school will pick up on children who haven't made any progress since the end of last year. Nothing for either of you to worry about.

ah.. ok! That makes sense. I wasn't worried, except I was a little confused as to what sort of reporting could be gleaned from it. But what you wrote makes sense now.
