Thats nice Smile. I've written thank you to the teacher twice in the last 2.5 weeks in my ds's home - school book and I hoped it was appreciated. I often wonder how often teachers are thanked for doing a good job.

skybluepearl · 15/03/2011 19:52

My sons teachers are amazing - they are inspiring, great fun, they work hard, they have a great relationship with the parents and they really care about the kids. I only ever seem to thank them at Xmas/end of year though.

MigratingCoconuts · 15/03/2011 19:54

I agree! a thank you is enough to make a shitty day completely better Smile. (another teacher here)

Is that right MigratingCoconuts? I am appreciative but will try and make a point of thanking mine more - especially having seen the rough ride you lot get from Jamie Oliver's gang. I don't know how you aren't all in straight jackets and knocking back the valium.

MigratingCoconuts · 17/03/2011 17:12

yes..its pathetic how pleased I can be at a show of gratitude!

Seriously, because thats why I do the job, to help. Its is great job satisfaction to succeed.

Will be into my sons class in the morning just to say thankyou :)

mumof2girls2boys · 18/03/2011 19:25

OP you will be glad to know I went in this morning and thanked my DS teacher in advance for putting up with a group of pj wearing 7 year olds who were hyper due to red nose syndrome. I wished her luck and made a hasty exit, she looked made up that someone had cared. My DS said the thanked her again at the end of the day and she gave him a star of the day sticker so he is happy too :)

Smile this is a nice thread...

missmehalia · 18/03/2011 19:56

Yep, sent a huge thank you card at Christmas for all the hard work the teachers put into the school play. It was obviously enormous amounts of work, the kids just shone, and I think we need to notice and say something when things go right, instead of just whining when we're not happy. I think this probably applies to more area of life than just schools...
