Just being nosy. Grin

Is your school hosting any events for the Royal Wedding? Is your PTA providing souvenirs for the children? How do feel about the events or lack of your school has arranged?

we're having a fete I think, although its more to drum up some interest in the school... the Actual Day is in the Easter holidays so its a bit awkward.

TheFallenMadonna · 05/03/2011 18:36

Yes and yes. I'm no royalist, but it doesn't bother me particularly. I remember my like-minded mother helping me make a hat for the siver jubilee celebrations and making cakes for a street party, and we both came through it republican views intact.

Hulababy · 05/03/2011 18:39

No event that I am aware at at either DD's school or te school work at. I have no dount it will be discussed, maybe even some informal activities on that week, but no special evens that I know of.

Not in school holidays in Sheffield.

Caz10 · 05/03/2011 18:44

We're getting the bank holiday for it!

pinkgirlythoughts · 05/03/2011 18:45

We have a 'year 2 wedding' in the summer term every year anyway, to fit in with what they're learning in RE, so it's just being forward to the day before the wedding, rather than the end of May, and we're having a 'Royal Wedding' theme for it.

Seona1973 · 05/03/2011 18:58

I dont think ours are doing anything for it except for giving them an extra day off school!! They will be in school for precisely 8 days in April Shock

Caz10 · 05/03/2011 19:41

We are the same! Big Grin from me as a very pregnant teacher, but must be a bloody nightmare for those needing childcare

receiverofopiniongiver · 06/03/2011 17:41

8?!?! Be grateful - grand total of 3 here!!! Grin I think I'd prefer not to have the 3!!!

receiverofopiniongiver · 06/03/2011 17:41

I didn't mean all that to be bold I didn't do that many '*' honest Blush

Bambi1014 · 06/03/2011 19:19

I don't think ours is doing anything either.

Bambi1014 · 06/03/2011 19:20

It is a nightmare :(

mummymilky · 07/03/2011 09:24

Don't think ours is doing anything in particular, but as they're in for just 3 days in April there's very little time!

mumof2girls2boys · 08/03/2011 11:14

My older 2 are now not it school at all in April (whole month off is ridiculous) and my younger 2 now get an extra day off in June as they are on Easter break when the bank holiday is!!!

whiskersonkittens · 09/03/2011 14:20

Don't think mine are - same thing, they go back on the Tuesday, so only have 3 days. Was supposed to be the Wed but they made it Tue because of the Royal Wedding holiday - give with one hand take with the other Wink

Not fussed - i shall be glad enough to get them back to school by then ....

tiredemma · 09/03/2011 14:24

school is having a 'street party'

lemonmousse · 09/03/2011 15:44

Our school having a 'street party' too at the end of term as the wedding falls in the Easter hols.

BreconBeBuggered · 10/03/2011 11:49

Ours is having a 'street' party out in the playground before the end of term. But that'll be well into April. What's with all the scary 'only 3 school days in April'? (worried)

hmh2011 · 17/03/2011 01:12

We are planning a 'street party' in the playground with cakes and squash on the day before the wedding. Would like to give a souvenir, but can't find anything - it's all so expensive! Any ideas??
