Conjunctivitus and school

My ds (yr1) has conjunctivitus. Am I supposed to keep him off school until it clears? I know it's highly contageous so surely he wouldn't be allowed to go in? Thanks for your help.

If they follow the guidance www.hpa.org.uk/web/HPAwebFile/HPAweb_C/1194947358374 then your DS can go in, but best check with the school :)

Once treatment has started with antibiotic ointment then he should be fine to go, but check the schools policy as they all differ.
