Westbrook Hay versus York House

Dear fellow mumsnetters,
Xp would like to send ds (age 5) into private education. Can anyone give me reviews / thoughts / experience on Westbrook Hay and York House.

I think it would be Westbrook Hay every time, from what I know.

York House is an odd school for some reason - though I've never quite managed to put my finger on exactly why. I have heard the same comments for quite a few years now.

I hear that numbers in the school have declined recently, particularly in the older year groups. Someone said to me that they thought the school might not be 100% financially stable as a result, so if you can look into that any further you should do so.

Friends who have children at WH are happy with it. It seems to be a fairly vibrant school with lots of extra-curricular activities and pretty good facilities, although I haven't seen them myself. I get the feeling that it is pretty sporty.

We didn't look at either of them when we moved here simply because it was all a bit last moment on schools, but I would have considered WH in hindsight.

Only my thoughts, but I hope they help.
