Does anyone know or could tell me where i might find out when my dd will start school with birthday 3rd of september. Not sure whether she will be 4 or 5. Is there a general rule or do all counties differ in UK?
Things will be a bit up in the air at that time as i will be leaving university when she is 4 so would like to be able to plan things with childcare etc.

It will probably be on her 5th birthday, check your local council website, they will have all the details for school admissions.

She'll start that september of her 5th birthday. So probably 4 - unless school starts on 3rd.

No, not all nurseries do the nursery education grant, school nurseries do but not all private ones, you need to ask. She would be eligible for that the term after she turns 3.

Thanks our council website isnt very helpful, i would imagine she would be due to turn 5 when she starts too, just turning 4 seems a bit young to be starting school to meSmile

In England I think the cut off is the end of August so your lo wouldnt start school till she is nearly 5.

If she's a September birthday, she will be starting in the term she is 5. She will be one of the oldest in the class.
