This is putting me off MN. Is it just me?

Is this just bluegiraffe and me then? Am talking about the deeply annoying animated cartoon advert to the right of this page. Maybe others can't see them.

It's not animated or noisy on my iPad - just a normal static picture.

Aahh! Wonder if the animation can be turned off then?

Why not, Feenie? It is a deeply irritating advert and all MNers should protest about it!

Fortunately I don't get any sound, the animation is distracting enough.

Because it would get the techs'/MNHQ's attention more in site stuff.

We have poor Broadband and the computer goes down sometimes when I'm online especially in the evenings. So it would be a relief, on top of this hassle, not to have the tyranny of obnoxious advertising when on MN. This advert seems to be just on Primary Education fyi as the film is clearly aimed at parents of this age group. Maybe others don't mind, or don't see the animated version, but I would appeal to MNHQ to think about how and to whom they sell advertising space on here and whether it could have a negative effect for them and their advertisers. I for one wouldn't go near a film that showed these munchkins shooting 'at me' with 12-bore shotguns.

Even worse, I threw off my own glasses in frustration at the damn things, and now can't find them again.

I can't see it either, but I'm using adblocking software. If you're using Firefox, install the 'adblocker plus' plugin. (tools - add ons - get add ons). No more adverts - anywhere. Good if they crash your computer, or, like me, it just annoys you :D
