Rikki Tikki Tavvi is part of a scheme of reading benchmarking, used by lots of schools. It is around Level 28. It's not new, infact it's very old.

Rikki Tikki Tavvi is from The Jungle Book, by Rudyard Kipling :-)

I absolutely love that story. My grandmother used to read it to me every night when we stayed with her. It brings back really happy memories.

Sorry - completely off the point!

It's a great story, but a tricky read - old-fashioned English, big vocabulary and long sentences. I had no idea it was used to test comprehension, but I hope that it would be pitched carefully at those children who were ready for it.
