Interested to hear what other schools do to raise money out of the usual cake sales, summer fair, Halloween parties, quiz etc...

Thanks!

Christmas cards were a huge money spinner at DDs last school. she would come home with a piece of paper with a form on the back, draw her design on the front, I'd give her 15 francs and four weeks later we had 10 cards and envelopes delivered to her design.
Another school sold calenders with the school year planned out on them and photographs of random children inside. They were great.

We're doing a Carnival and Crepe night on pancake day - haven't done it before so don't know if it will raise much!

We're also registered on the machine www.thegivingmachine.co.uk/go_shopping.php.

easysearch, easyfundraising - no real effort, and if you can encourage lots of parents and staff to use you can make quite a lot e.g. around 2-2.5% of amount spent at Amazon, John Lewis, M&S and loads more sites.

We do Bags to School. Parents bring in bin bags of unwanted clothes and fabric and a company comes in, weighs it all and pays us by the tonne.
Relatively good money for little work.

DD reminded me of another. Car boot sale where the people doing the booting pay you a fee to use the space.
It was very well received, probably because Switzerland doesn't have anything like it.

Non-uniform day for £1 donation last day of term. Easy money. Cinemas night very popular. Early evening kids come to school hall bring a cushion and get comfy for a film. School disco. Teachers/parents absail off local church for sponsorship! Selling icecreams in playground on sunny Friday. We've just held a Boden party; very lucrative. Oh, and give each child a sSmarties tube to fill with change. Works great for little ones.
