Hi,

My daughter is 6 and in yr 2.

She is currently really struggling with maths and has been put on a special programme in school called 'numbers count' to try and help her basic maths skills & more importantly her confidence.

Its sounds great but im looking for any experience & reviews of the programme, im just praying it helps as I feel quite sad for her to be struggling so much, it came as quite a shock to me tbh!

Thanks
Claire x

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I don't know anything about the scheme through personal experience - yet- ds in year 1. However his primary involved in something called 'every child counts'. They also stream in maths very early on but there is reassessment of child's 'stream' every half term. I am happy with the schools approach which seems so different from when I was a child. Their aim seems to be to stop children falling behind/ developing a fear of maths as early as possible. Just because your dd is struggling with maths now does not mean she always will. I think I would be pleased with your schools approach. Don't be sad!
