When do your kids go back after Easter?

Ours go back on 4th May, then break up again on 27th May for half term.

Isn't the point of half-term to be midway through the term?

Ours go back on 26th April for three days, then the Fri and Mon are bank hols. Easter is very late this year.

Changebagsandgladrags · 25/01/2011 13:13

We have another day off in June because the extra bank holiday falls in our holidays.

So half term stays where it is, whenever Easter is? I suppose it's swings and roundabout then, one year it'll be not long from feb half term to easter, then another it may be evenly spaced.

We are only at school for 8 bloody days in April. 2 week Spring Holiday then back for 3 days then long weekend for Easter, back for 4 days then may weekend Hmm

My primary DCs break up 8th April and go back 3rd May.

Unfortunately My DD1 doesn't have quite the same. Sad

Same as Sandyballs - i think they should have the three days off tbh. Even if they get some homework they have to do - like maybe about royalty / history or similar (leading up to wedding).

Mine go back Thurs 28 April. Then have a four-day Bank Holiday weekend. I wouldn't mind so much but the INSET day that was cancelled at Xmas has just been tacked onto Feb half-term. I'm sure there's a very good reason it couldn't be taken on 28 April Confused

They go back for ONE day? How many kids are going to be 'sick' that day?

Ours go back Wed 4th May, then school is closed the next day as its a polling station so they are only in Wed and Fri that week. I can see a lot of people taking a extra weeks holiday tbh !

ChippyMinton · 25/01/2011 17:16

I know, it's bonkers. The head is quite good about allowing holidays in term time, though, so I expect there will be a fair number of authorised absences on that day.

Both me and dd go back Tuesday after Easter. We are then off Friday that week for the long weekend.

Easter is so late this year.

Hulababy · 25/01/2011 17:22

That seems like madness chippy!

Dd is at school for just 3 days in April! Still swings and roundabouts. Thy do same number of days/weeks regardless.

nymphadora · 25/01/2011 17:28

8-26th here then 4 day w/e

roisin · 25/01/2011 17:46

We go back on 27th April for 2 days, then 4 day w/e!

mrz · 25/01/2011 18:37

Tuesday 3rd May then break up the 27th

Ineedalife · 26/01/2011 22:01

We go back on the 27th and then off friday and monday..

I am panicing because I can only work for one week in april and in true preschool fashion, if I don't work I don't get paidHmm

Concordia · 26/01/2011 22:04

Ds goes back to school after the easter holiday before easter. hmmm. then he has two short weeks because of the bank holidays.
if we had the money i would be having a month of holidays.

midnightexpress · 26/01/2011 22:08

We break up on the 1st for two weeks then off again for three days at Easter (I think) then the wedding and May BH.

But they got a short Christams holiday - not even 2 weeks, so hey. PITA if you have to get childcare though.

Apparently there's an extra BH next year for the Queen's Jubilee and the 'May' bank holiday at the end of may will be in June instead. Confused

Easter's late. It moves every year. Does it matter if half term isn't exactly half way?
