touch typing/computer skills for 9 year old in london

Please can anyone recommend a touch typing course and/or fun basic computer skills course in central/west london. Preferably in the holidays but after school or weekends too.

My 9 year old DS has fallen behind in ICT and has now lost confidence, he just needs a boost to get his motivation back.

His handwriting problems are increasing and the school are considering letting him use a laptop instead of writing, but his 1 fingered typing is painfully slow.......

I am going to post in SEN too, in the hope that someone knows of a good course or tutor.

TIA Smile

There is a very good touch typing course for children on the BBC website. Will try to find a link.

Thanks for your responses it seems that most people recommend learning at home rather than a class. i will look into your suggestions...........

I think it would be possible to learn to touch type at home with 10 mins a day. I think it took me about 3 weeks to learn when I was in my late teens. Knowing how fast kids pick things up it might be quicker for him.

Good luck.

They use dance mat typing at DD's school (Yr 3).
